About the Business
I am very lucky to have spent much of my formative years living in Dunbar, just a few hundred metres from the coastline. My playground was the beach, cliffs and rock pools in, what I now know, is an area of National Geological Importance. In hindsight this gave me an awareness and feeling for the landscape and ecology around me that has stayed with me throughout my life. Eventually this led to me gaining an Honours Degree in Physical Geography at Aberdeen University.
In 2007 I took the big step of leaving a secure job to retrain in Garden Design. I achieved this by completing an HNC at the Scottish Agricultural College, Craibstone, in Aberdeen. My highlight of the course was winning the Pitcaple Environmental Project Garden Design Award for the proposed North East Heritage Garden, and then seeing the garden taking shape created until its opening in 2011.
